These terms explain the boundaries of this free, open-source household planning service.

Educational purpose

BudgetBridge helps households organize information and understand possible next steps. It is not a bank, lender, investment platform, credit bureau, accountant, or licensed financial, legal, tax, investment, or debt adviser.

Your responsibility to review

Statement readers and AI can make mistakes. Review balances, transaction rows, transfers, refunds, categories, debt terms, and recommendations before relying on them. A statement balance is accurate only as of the date shown by the bank and is not a live balance.

Free-model and household-key policy

Normal AI features require a household-owned OpenRouter key and a free-model route. BudgetBridge does not promise that a particular free model will always be available. When free capacity is unavailable, the service may wait, show a local explanation, or ask the household to try later. It must not silently choose a paid route.

Household access

The Head of Household is responsible for inviting the correct members, protecting the household code, and managing Drive files and the AI key. Members must respect the privacy and decisions of the household.

Acceptable use

Do not use BudgetBridge to access another household without permission, attack or overload the service, upload unlawful material, evade security controls, or expose another person’s sensitive financial information.

Availability

The service is provided without a subscription and may change, pause, or lose access to third-party services. Keep exports of important information. The project does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every bank format will be read automatically.

No guaranteed outcomes

Budgets, debt projections, goal dates, and investment illustrations depend on user-supplied information and assumptions. They are estimates, not promises of savings, payoff dates, returns, eligibility, or financial outcomes.

Open-source software

The source code is published under the license included in the GitHub repository. Service use and source-code licensing are related but distinct; the repository license governs copying and modification of the code.

Changes

Material changes will update the effective date. Continuing to use the hosted service after a change means using it under the updated terms.
